Be Giving!

I didnt edit it because this was a simple AIM convo I had but wanted to share some thoughs.

Jen (10:59:44 PM): Well I was just about to write a new blog
Jen (10:59:51 PM): so i will tell ya about that
A Friend (11:00:21 PM): alrighty
Jen (11:02:23 PM): Well today was a really hard day for me because I don't have my rent money and ive been praying for the Lord to provide and well as of now nothing has changed. I was mad because I was like God I trusted you and I have given to other and I need you. I was down and thinking
Jen (11:03:10 PM): life is so hard and drinking and doing drugs made me not worry about it but that is not the answer.
Jen (11:04:13 PM): As Christian we say all the time when people are need. I will pray for you when we can easly make a difference.
Jen (11:05:14 PM): We are called help each pther, pray for each other and give. It should never be about me it should always be in what way can I show this person the love of christ
Jen (11:05:28 PM): How can I help this person?
Jen (11:06:37 PM): And we dont hardly do a good enough job. We walk by homeless ppl every day and say there probably going to use the money i could give them on beer so why should I give
Jen (11:07:51 PM): We are not called to ask what is this money going for or why. But we should say this is a blessing from God and pray they do the right thing. I have been turned out by many Christians lately by there selfish nature.
Jen (11:08:51 PM): When did Jesus say I could heal you but im tired. I could feed you but i rather buy new shoes or a new computer or an ipod.
Jen (11:09:37 PM): Jesus was a man of action and prayer and I say we need to be people of action for Christ and step it up and do work in Jesus name.

A Friend (11:11:34 PM): Jesus was also a man who told the disciples to wipe the dust off their feet and not throw pearls before swine. He was balanced and called his followers to be good stewards of all that was given to them, even the Gospel message.

A Friend (11:11:49 PM): And a hard one. :) which means is a good one
A Friend (11:12:32 PM): i think often about that pastor we are friends with in India and how he cares for a household of orphans and widows and no one provides for them
A Friend (11:13:06 PM): and here we are in the lap of luxury. God calls us to give out of our need as well as our abundance.
A Friend (11:14:22 PM): I know I need God to sanctify that area of my life.
A Friend (11:15:46 PM): "But we should say this is a blessing from God and pray they do the right thing." God reminds me of this often when my husband throws money out the window to homeless people. He says it aint yo money in the first place. :_

Jen (11:19:07 PM): It just hurts me so much to see such selfishness you know. I am selfish myself but I know that I would give someone the shirt off my back and my very last penny know questions if the Lord said so and I think that people tend tro make excuses. The Lord will bless people who give and the Lord wll provide for those who help others. Even thought at this moment I am worrying about how I will pay rent my phone bill and for food. I know that the Lord is alreeady working on it. I have been on my knees seeking him and asking the Lord to show me anything I need to see. and this was it. Nothing is ours so why walk around acting like we own anything.

A Friend (11:22:45 PM): just remember when you get frustrated to be graceful, and if possible use it as an opportunity to exhort your fellow brother and sisters in Christ.
Jen (11:25:47 PM): We deserve death and have so much more and I just pray that I will be grateful in all things and will never turn my back on the people who need me. Every morning I wirte a list of 10 things I am thankful for and it has given me a thankful heart and this afternoon while sitting here crying I remembered that I forgot to write my list and be thankful that even if i was to get kicked out of my apartment tonight it would be ok.
